What we do

7 programmes, one mission

Integrated work across biodiversity, climate, health, education, livelihoods and mining, in the Greater Kakamega Forest Ecosystem and Kakamega County’s mining areas.

K-BIAN designs integrated interventions that address the nexus between biodiversity, climate change, health, education, sustainable livelihoods and natural resources utilisation. Seven programmes carry that work across K-BIAN’s locations of operation.

Forest Conservation is the only programme with real, delivered results so far. The rest are designed and being built: honestly described as intent, not yet as a running record. Each programme page states plainly what has and has not happened.
